It's come round to that time of the year again when our thoughts are drawn back to one of the most influential producers to ever grace the MPC pads. Famously described as 'Your favourite producer's favourite producer', J Dilla has made music for such notable hip hop artists as Common, A Tribe Called Quest, Erykah Badu, Phracyde, Madlib and so many more. Since he passed away in February 2006, dedicated fans across the world have used this month of the year to celebrate his life by throwing tribute parties and making beats and mixes.
Honouring that tradition, we've compiled a mix of the samples used in Dilla's music, interspersed with the beats he used them in, and we've managed to do it using ONLY VINYL! You can check out the full track list below...
We hope you enjoy the mix, and as usual we've got the full video and many more on our YouTube channel, so please support us and subscribe if you're feeling it!
