"Sweet My Ear" is indebted to both highlife - Ghana's traditional dance music - and to the recent popularisation of Afro fused, soul-jazz music and it gave Eric Owusu, Jembaa Groove’s singer and percussionist, the chance to team up (again) with Kwame Yeboahs and his Pat Thomas band-mates. It features Ghanaian singer K.O.G who is based in Sheffield, England and has become ever-popular in the Afro-jazz and tropical music scenes.
