While Andrew Weatherall was pioneering an indie dance cross over with Screamadelica, at the same town way down under in Aus, Sydney dance-funk combo Bellydance laid down their own blueprint. Mixing up street soul, funk and disco they were a collective featuring up to nine members and their best moment was this archetype end of the night send off. The glorious original is a high speed rollercoaster, the No People mix is a sax laced instrumental and the Peewee Ferris & John Ferris Verizon that closes out is a real joy with the chipmunk vocals and hands in the air pianos.
